Code Of Conduct

By becoming a student-athlete of the MIKA Sports Association, players are agreeing to abide by following this code of conduct. Players will demonstrate their commitment to excellence both on and off the court and will be able to represent the organization with pride and professionalism.

  1. Respect: Players are expected to treat coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials with respect at all times, both on and off the court.

  2. Responsibility: Players should be on their best behavior, both on and off the court, and will be held accountable for their actions.

  3. Teamwork: Players are expected to work together as a team, communicating effectively and supporting each other.

  4. Discipline: Players are expected to maintain a high level of self-discipline, including following team rules.

  5. Sportsmanship: Players are expected to display good sportsmanship, both in victory and defeat and to avoid unsportsmanlike conduct.

  6. Academic Performance: Players are expected to maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 in order to participate in games and practices; an essay is required each year by the third practice.

  7. Attendance: Players are expected to attend all practices and games and to inform coaches in advance if they cannot attend due to illness, injury, or other legitimate reasons.

  8. Punctuality: Players are expected to arrive on time for practices and games and to notify coaches in advance if they will be late or absent.

  9. Dress Code: Players are expected to dress appropriately for practices and games, wearing the team uniform and any required gear or equipment (NO JEWELRY, CROCS or SLIDES worn during practice or games).

  10. Social Media: Players are expected to use social media responsibly, avoiding any behavior that reflects negatively on themselves, the team, or the organization.

  11. Communication: Players are expected to communicate openly and honestly with coaches and teammates, providing feedback and suggestions in a respectful manner.

  12. Dedication: Players are expected to be fully committed to the team, attending all practices and games and giving their best effort at all times.

  13. Perseverance: Maintain a positive attitude and continue to work hard to improve their skills.

  14. Role Models: Players are expected to be positive role models for younger athletes, demonstrating good sportsmanship, leadership, and dedication to the sport.

  15. Respect for Equipment: Players are expected to take good care of team equipment and facilities, including cleaning up after themselves and reporting any damage or malfunctions promptly.
